Panel Moderator 

Daire O'Brien, Journalist & Broadcaster

Daire O'Brien has been a journalist and broadcater for over twenty years. Educated at CBC Cork and TCD Dublin he has been reporter, columnist and senior editor with a host of Irish broadsheet newspapers. He has presented his own programme on RTE Radio One before becomming a founding director of Newstalk 106.

He currently presents rugby on RTE television and scripts and narrates the successful GAA magazine programme Thank GAA It's Friday.

Professor Mary Lambkin

Mary Lambkin is Professor of Marketing and head of the Marketing Group at the Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin. Her qualifications include an MBA from UCD and a PhD from the University of Toronto.

She teaches postgraduate courses on marketing and also publishes widely on strategic marketing topics. Her research interests centre on the evolution of competition and business models, industry restructuring and product portfolio realignment, and the management of brands and corporate reputation.

She is also active in the marketing profession and in industry, and has served as Chairman of the Marketing Society of Ireland and as a council member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. She is also a non-executive director of Citibank Europe plc, and has served on several other corporate boards.

 


Michael Loftus, Head of Faculty of Engineering & Science at CIT

Michael Loftus currently holds the position of Head of Faculty of Engineering & Science at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT).  In this role, he holds overall responsibility for all aspects of Faculty development and operations. Since joining CIT in 2001, Michael has held the positions of Lecturer in Computing, Head of School of Computing & Mathematics and Head of Faculty of Science prior to taking up his current position.

Michael worked in industry from 1995 to 2001 and, during this time, was employed as a software engineer, researcher, project manager and IT consultant. He has undertaken many international assignments and, with co-owners, developed and sold a consultancy company to Gartner Group. He is a member of the board of directors of Cork Chamber and a former member of the board of directors of it@cork, European Tech Cluster.


Raluca Saceanu, Head of Marketing for Smarttech UK & Ireland 

Raluca Saceanu is the Head of Marketing for Smarttech Ireland & UK. As a certified inbound marketing specialist she manages a team of content developers, web designers and  programmers for Smarttech Digital. Recent projects that Raluca has managed include the development of the Cork Opera House & IT@Cork websites and co-ordination of their inbound marketing strategies.

As part of her daily activities and utilising inbound techniques Raluca works with organisations to improve their digital foot print and improve their inbound marketing strategies.

This includes: Social Media,  SEO,  CTA’s,  Landing pages,  Content creation, Newsletters, Pay per click.

Raluca holds a MSc in Multi-Cultural Branding, Strategic Management from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. In addition Raluca is a certified HubSpot administrator.  Before joining Smarttech Raluca was head of marketing for an Austrian Tourism organisation.

 

Greg Canty, Fuzion

Greg joined Fuzion in 2003, bringing a strong commercial aspect to the business. Greg is a qualified accountant (ACCA) who spent 6 Years in Practice and a further 6 Years in Industry, which led onto 8 years of General Management in the Drinks Industry with Deasy & Co (Guinness owned subsidiary) and Nash Beverages Ltd a Heineken subsidiary. Greg also spent three years as a Senior Business/ Marketing Analyst with Guinness in Dublin.

Greg has extensive experience in online strategy.  He is considered one of the leading B2B bloggers in Ireland and is a highly sought after Social Media Trainer and Consultant.  His blog has attracted a large following with his posts printed regularly in local and national publications.
