Our October Breakfast Tech Talk took place on the 23^rd of October in AIB, 66 south Mall.  Kindly hosted and sponsored by AIB in the spectacular banking hall, this tech talk explored the current state of fintech, future trends and in particular its impacts on the banking and financial services sectors.  This event included a panel of speakers from Fexco (Catherine Evans), UCC CUBS (Prof Philip O’Reilly) and AIB (Mark Harris) who engaged in a conversation on a number of relevant areas including:

• The current state of Fin Tech in terms of its evolution and adoption
• Regulation in the finance/banking sector that is enabling/preventing greater adoption of fintech
• Challenges and opportunities and how disruptive technologies are transforming the banking and financial services sector
• How is this region (South-West) placed to capitalise on global opportunities for fintech
