Programme Overview

This practical course is designed to give an overview of Social Media and also a practical tutorial on how to use each of the platforms in business. The sessions encourage the participants to learn about the opportunities that are available by using social media and then to decide what their own social media strategy is.

The sessions are interactive showing both case studies and practical examples and will go into the detail of setting up and using a blog, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for their business.  To maximise the benefit of the course participants will be contacted in advance with some initial homework and then be provided with further homework in between session one and two.

Deliver a practical and detailed social media course equipping attendees to execute learning in their business immediately.


Target Audience

Anybody who wants to learn how to get the most out of social media opportunities in a work context.

• How to build “likes” for your business on Facebook

• Practical Examples
• Case Study

• Introduction to Twitter
• Setting up a profile
• Review of Options & Functionality
• How to build Followers & Twitter etiquette
• The power of Twitter “search”
• Top Tips for Twitter use for business
• Introduction to LinkedIn
• Your Personal Profile
• Setting up your Company
• How to build connections on LinkedIn
• Using Groups to gain connections & visibility
• Top Tips for LinkedIn for business
• Location based Social Media – Foursquare
• Tweetdeck – Overview of a practical tool to manage all of your social media platforms
• Reputation – How to watch/measure what is being said about your business online


Trainer Profile Qualification & Relevant Experience

Fuzion have been running courses for over two years including this PR course for the South Cork Enterprise Board, courses in Social Media for the South Cork Enterprise Board, Biznet and the PINC Programme. Greg Canty

Greg is a Chartered Certified Accountant who joined the business in 2002 and brought a background of Financial & General Management with a CV that included senior positions within the Drinks industry including two posts as General Manager and three years as Business Analyst and Marketing Strategist with Guinness Ireland. Running parallel to this was ownership in a number of retail concerns throughout Ireland.

Greg has extensive experience in website strategy and optimisation. He is considered one of the leading B2B bloggers in Ireland and is a highly sought after Social Media Trainer and Consultant.


His regular B2B blog has attracted over 50,000 hits since April 2010 alone and his submissions have even been printed in various national publications.
