it@cork Leaders Awards 2019

Leaders Awards

The it@cork Leader’s Awards (#techleaders19) is an annual event that recognises achievement, innovation and commitment to the tech sector in the region.  From global multinationals to schools and start-ups, the awards recognise those who have delivered outstanding results in the use of technology in their respective organisations and businesses.

The Awards, which are in their 13th year, are now open to applicants, with judging to take place in early October. It will culminate in a gala prize giving ceremony to be held at the Rochestown Park Hotel on October 18th.

The it@cork Leaders Awards categories are split into 8 different categories:

  1. *Tech Person of the Year (Winner 2018: Linda & Dan Kiely)
  2. The One to Watch (Winner 2018: Smarttech247)
  3. MNC of the Year (Winner 2018: McKesson)
  4. Excellence in Education (Winner 2018: Gaelcholaiste Mhuire (A.G))
  5. Tech Start Up of the Year (Joint Winners 2018: Altada & GetVisibility)
  6. Smart Technology Innovation Award (Winner 2018: GridBeyond)
  7. Corporate Social Responsibility Award (Winner 2018: VMware International (Cork))
  8. **Culture of Learning and Development Award (New)

*Tech Person of the Year Award is the only category that is nominated by the Board of it@cork and the ultimate winner is selected by a panel of 4 judges.

**Culture of Learning and Development is a new award and replaces Technical Training Programme of the Year Award from 2018.

Towards 2020

It@cork have chosen the theme for this year’s Leaders Awards to be ‘Towards 2020’, which is a celebration of all the previous winners who have contributed immensely to the tech industry in the region, and a nod to the present and future leaders who will bring the Irish tech industry into the next decade.

An exciting addition to this year’s initiative is the opening of the new it@cork Tech Leaders Hall of Fame, into which all previous winners of the prestigious Tech Leader of the Year award will be inducted.
