Join it@cork Adopt a School Programme
This programme is developing vibrant and creative relationships between IT-intensive organisations and schools. It excites and engages young students in IT-based innovation and helps organisations make a strategic contribution to the economic and social development of the regions in which they operate.
We encourage your organisation to "sign-up" to this programme and to make a real contribution to helping primary and post primary school students discover how IT can be used creatively for fun and for commercial gain.
By "signing up" to adopt-a-school, your organisation will be committing to carry out one or more of the following actions for one or more local schools.
  • Providing some software development classes to interested students
  • Providing some software/harware troubleshooting classes to interested students
  • Donating some useful IT equipment, new or re-configured
  • Providing some necessary IT support
  • Offering work experience for transition-year students interested in IT
  • Setting up a Coder Dojo in your organisation for local children to learn how to "code" in an informal environment

In relation to every adopt-a-school success story, it@cork will ensure that your organisation receives full recognition for it's contribution and will:

  • Formally present to your organisation an adopt-a-school certificate which may be displayed in a prominent location in your premises, on your website etc.
  • Publish relevant details on the it@cork Website
  • Provide extensive coverage on social media websites
  • Provide numerous photo opportunities
  • Issue press release to relevant media outlets

To "Sign Up" please contact Julie Ann Ramsell at julianne@itcork.ie
