Asystec "February Member of the Month"

Asystec, a data management solutions firm began trading in February 2011. Founders Les Byrne and Brendan McPhillips spotted an opportunity in the ICT market around managing the explosion of data, which is now being experienced in many organisations.

Asystec saw a need for specialists who can design and develop bespoke solutions for these organisations to protect, manage and store their data more efficiently and cost effectively. Joining forces with industry leaders such as EMC, Symantec, Varonis, Oracle, Hitachi, VMware, VCE and Cisco enable Asystec to design such solutions and act as a single source for customers providing them with end to end solutions along with the skills to ensure a successful outcome.

Asystec are customer driven, with a core focus on commitment to service and value for money. We have some of Ireland’s largest multinationals on our books including Apple Computers, Analog Devices, Boston Scientific, Renaissance Re-Insurance , Elavon Financial, Allied Irish Bank and Irish Life and Permanent to name but a few.

The company is an active member of it@cork and regularly sponsor key events at the organisation. Sophia Byrne, Enterprise Account manager for Asystec is currently involved in assisting the committee who are at present developing an industry paper to present to national government to support Cork as a digital hub.

The company has achieved a tremendous amount of success and growth in the period since inception, and were recently recognised for this having being nominated by the Limerick Chamber Awards as “Best SME 2012” and becoming finalists in the “High Growth” category at the it@cork leadership awards.

Professional Services Profile

Asystec professional services division has a number of highly skilled technical engineers with a proven track record in Pre-Sales Consultancy and Design, right through to post sales installations and configurations. Asystec are committed to training and all of the technical support personnel have up to date certifications with each Vendor’s solution we work with. We partner with some of the leading IT solutions providers such as:

EMC – We are a Premier Solutions partner with EMC. One of only two such partners in Ireland who have sales and technical certifications to enable us to deliver full end to end solutions in Storage, Backup and Recovery around the VNX, Avamar and Data Domain products
Symantec – We are a master specialist Partner in Backup and Archiving with Symantec. We are certified in NetBackup, Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault and we are the only master specialist accredited in Ireland in the NetBackup Appliances.
Varonis – We are currently the only reseller in Ireland capable of delivering sales and installation services around the Data Governance Suite. We are a preferred partner with Varonis.
VMware – Asystec are an enterprise solution provider certified in vSphere Design and Implementation. We have access to the VMware toolset for running health checks and capacity planning reports on customer environments.
Oracle – We are a gold partner with Oracle capable of selling the full oracle software and hardware stack, and delivering professional services around database and the RAC consultancy.

Where will you find us?

Our head office is based in Limerick with subsidiaries in Cork and Dublin. We expect our UK base to be opened within the year.
